Sponsorship

Sponsorship Opportunities
Yes, it’s expensive to climb the tallest of them all. A large piece of the cost is the permit fee: $10,000 from the South side. Add to that the costs for Sherpas, gear, transportations, oxygen and such. A low budget expedition will still require a good $35,000 of you.

Using the finest logistics on the mountain to ensure the best chance of success the cost of my expedition to Everest will be $47,000. In an attempt to defray at least part of this cost I am now actively seeking sponsorship / sponsors to assist in financing the expedition. I have categorized the different levels of support and sponsorship into three different categories: Summit, Advanced Base Camp, and Base Camp.

SUMMIT SPONSOR – $30,000
I will accept one lead sponsor, creating an excellent opportunity with maximum exposure.

The summit sponsor will enjoy the following benefits:

  • Corporate flag at Mt. Everest summit and all intermediary camps with photos. 10 x 24 inch light weight nylon flags specially designed to fit onto ice-axe shafts will be carried at all times by myself, thus photo opportunities can be utilized as they present themselves
  • Company logo incorporated into Green Gibbon Everest ’05 logo
  • Company logo will appear most prominently on all promotional materials, press releases, personal gear
  • Green Gibbon Everest ’05 endorsement of sponsor’s products and services
  • Links on expedition website to sponsor’s websites
  • Multiple Banner Ads on website
  • I will be available for personal appearances
  • Fare and accommodations of one sponsor representative to join me in trekking to Everest Base Camp

ADVANCED BASE CAMP SPONSOR – $10,000
ABC sponsors will enjoy the following benefits:

  • Corporate flag up to and including High Camp with photos
  • Company logo will appear on all promotional materials, press releases, personal gear
  • Links on expedition website to sponsor’s website
  • Multiple Banner Ads on website
  • I will be available for personal appearances

BASE CAMP SPONSOR – $500
Base camp sponsors will enjoy the following benefits:

  • Company logo will appear on certain promotional materials, press releases, personal gear
  • Links on expedition website to sponsor’s website
  • Multiple Banner Ads on website
  • I will be available for personal appearances

Below is a basic costing of the more expensive items:

  • Climbing permit – $10,000
  • Flight to Kathmandu – $2,000
  • Technical gear – $2,000
  • Oxygen – $4,000 (Approx 10 cylinders required)
  • Food – $3,000
  • Travel / Trek – $3,500
  • Sherpa support – $6,000
  • Base camp logistics – $2,000
  • Communication – $3,000
  • Base camp home – $8,000

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or contributor I will be delighted to hear from you or if you would like further details please call or e-mail Wayne Morris on +1 561 289-2518 or Everest-Sponsorship

I would like to thank sincerely all those who have been so generous in their support of the Green Gibbon Everest Expedition 2005.

Sponsorship Benefits
Major sponsors will benefit in the areas shown below and will receive a good commercial return on their investment. My approach is to work in partnership rather than be prescriptive in relationship to my marketing and sponsorship for this major noteworthy event.

Impacts:

  • Company Image Building
  • Motivational speeches at your Company and to the organizations / charities whom you are related to
  • Title sponsor of expedition, control of marketing campaign
  • Logo’s on all related presentational material
  • Website promotional banners and links
  • Exclusive first viewing of slide show for customers and employees

Image Building

Building a certain image for a company, brand or line of products. The adventure and dangers of alpine climbing are fascinating and attractive.

Everest really changed peoples outlook on us (much to our own surprise actually) and could do just the same for products and / or “sleeping” company brands.

Unite a Corporate Family

Why not let me “join your company” and make this climb a part of your happenings (fairs, promotions, sales pushes and the like). To attend an expedition, even if arm-chair only can really boost the performance of the employees in the duration of the adventure.

It breaks the routine bore, the staff gets into the fight and perform better themselves in the going. A wild adventure with the company’s name attached to it brings the staff closer together, promoting a feeling of pushing a joint aim. This feeling is otherwise hard to create, since it requires stepping outside the usual work environment and faces something completely different.

Thus, this expedition can help the staff to view their usual problems with new approaches. Also the workers realize that they’re not so bad off after all – compared to that of the sucker in the pitch-black tent with his beard frozen to his teeth – I WILL be doing much worse!

Publicity on Expedition

A story of an ordinary working man endeavoring to undertake what seems an impossible task. Also using Everest as a metaphor for each individual to tackle and overcome our personal challenges in life.

I intend to carry a communication satellite system that will give up to the minute news both in verbal and pictorial form as the team progresses on the expedition.

TV, Press, etc..
I would be delighted to have the opportunity to outline in further detail my proposals which are listed for coverage below.
